PROFESSOR INFO:  Isa Orvieto, Special Instructor at Emmanuel College, is originally from Rome, but from1992 to 2005 she lived in Milan.  In 2005, following her husband who had accepted a position with the faculty at Harvard, she moved to Boston where she now lives. Nonetheless Isa Orvieto maintains a strong bond with Milan where she still has multiple connections.   In the years she lived there, she taught at the IES, a study abroad program based in Milan. She had first-hand knowledge of different issues that could arise with American students in a study abroad program in Milan.  Isa Orvieto holds a Bachelor degree in Modern literature from the University of Rome and an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.  Before teaching at Emmanuel, she taught for over fifteen years in colleges in Italy and in the U.S., including Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Cornell University, where she spent seven years and attained the rank of Senior Lecturer, before returning to Italy.
